Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS)
Whats so special about electronic muscle stimulation (EMS) ab belts and toning devices?
There’s all sorts of hot new electronic toning devices on the market today, like the Flex Belt, Contour Abs, Sport-Elec, Slendertone, Abtronic, the Ab Energizer, the Rio ab belt, Bodyvibes and Gymform to name but a few.
All of these ab toning belts are very popular, but the EMS technology (using electricity to stimulate muscle development) has been around for some years in fact, in the past used by athletes and the medical profession to treat sports and other muscle related injuries.
These days, as costs have dropped and production quality has improved, EVERYONE seems to be using electronic muscle stimulators like ab belts to tone, firm and tighten their abs!
So where does the term ‘electronic muscle stimulation’ come from? The process of stimulating ones muscles to cause growth uses a tiny electronic current fed to your muscles which causes them to contract, in the same way they would if you were doing traditional physical exercise.
A football player or athlete for example, would utilise EMS technology and help build power and increase resistance and stamina within muscles either during downtime, or when they had an injury that prevented them from training as they usually would. Studies have proven that sportsmen and women perform better if they use EMS treatments, than those who do not. Read more about the Flex Belt.
An EMS device like an ab belt can be used to treat or ease all kinds of physical probelms, such as back pain, muscles spasms, even circulatory problems as well as more mundane aches and pains, as well as help you acheive a stronger abdominal area with little effort on your part.
If you don’t exercise, you will not physically ’see’ the benefits, as your muscles will be hidden by a layer of body fat. Read more about 3 easy ways to help cut your belly fat.
Important notice: DO NOT use an electronic muscle stimulation device if you are pregnant, or have been diagnosed with cancer. Unborn infant heartbeat could be disturbed in pregnant users. Never use an EMS device across your chest as it could interfere with your heart. Also, do not use an EMS device if you are fitted with a pacemaker. For all other users, an EMS evice like an ab belt is totally safe to use.
